Mammoth Resorts is the leading four-season mountain resort operator in California and operates a variety of recreation, hospitality, real estate development, food and beverage, and retail enterprises for both Mammoth Mountain and June Mountain.

Summary

During my successful tenure at Mammoth, I played a pivotal role in the development and establishment of the Action Sports program, making significant contributions that solidified Mammoth's position as a world-class resort. A cornerstone achievement was my instrumental role in creating the renowned terrain park program, which became a hallmark of Mammoth's appeal to action sports enthusiasts. Additionally, I held the responsibility of overseeing all youth marketing initiatives, effectively engaging and capturing the attention of the younger demographic.

Recognizing the importance of continuous improvement and cultivating talent, I proactively initiated the establishment of a comprehensive training program for on-hill staff and grooming operators. This forward-thinking initiative not only enhanced the skills and expertise of the team but also provided a feeder system to address attrition and foster a pipeline of up-and-coming staff members.

In line with my diverse set of responsibilities, I successfully managed a professional team of athletes, enabling them to achieve their fullest potential and contributing to their collective success. Simultaneously, I led the development of award-winning advertising campaigns, harnessing the power of creativity and strategic messaging to captivate audiences and elevate the Mammoth brand.

Beyond the realm of winter sports, I helped develop unique projects such as the Art Park, demonstrating an innovative approach that extended the resort's reach into the arts and culture community. By blending elements of creativity and sports, Mammoth was able to offer a truly immersive and multi-dimensional experience to guests.

My journey at Mammoth began humbly as a cat operator, initially taking on a temporary springtime job. Through unwavering dedication and a tireless work ethic, I steadily progressed within the organization. The evolution of my roles saw me rise from the position of terrain park manager to the esteemed position of Action Sports Director. In this capacity, I led a team of 30 individuals responsible for operating the parks and spearheading youth marketing initiatives, ensuring that Mammoth consistently delivered exceptional experiences to its target audience.

Building upon my previous accomplishments, I was entrusted with the crucial role of brand manager, overseeing the consumer-facing aspects of the Mammoth brand and products. With a keen focus on guest satisfaction, I diligently ensured that every touchpoint reflected the resort's commitment to excellence, creating an exceptional experience for all visitors.

As the leader of a dynamic team, I spearheaded the development of a captivating visual identity and brand experience for an action sports brand. Program Management


Demonstrated adeptness in operations management by spearheading the development and execution of a comprehensive action sports program, operating 24 hours a day. This encompassed a wide range of responsibilities, including terrain park design, management, marketing, and sponsorship. In addition to forging strategic partnerships, implementing impactful advertising campaigns, and overseeing creative direction for photo and video shoots, I also ensured smooth operations around the clock. By effectively managing resources, optimizing workflows, and implementing efficient systems, we maintained uninterrupted operations and delivered exceptional experiences to our customers. This commitment to 24-hour operation helped us establish a strong competitive advantage and solidify our brand's position as a leader in the action sports industry.

In addition to leading the team, I also oversaw risk management and training for the terrain park program. Implemented comprehensive protocols, conducted risk assessments, and developed training programs to ensure participant and staff safety. Created a secure environment through proactive risk mitigation and equipped individuals with essential skills and knowledge.


Guest Experience Direction


I played a crucial role in programming exceptional guest experiences at the resort, meticulously curating entertainment, nightlife, F&B, and retail offerings. With a keen focus on exceeding customer expectations, I ensured that every aspect of the guest experience was thoughtfully crafted to deliver unparalleled satisfaction. By continuously exploring innovative ideas, collaborating with diverse teams, and staying attuned to evolving consumer preferences, I consistently elevated our offerings to create unforgettable moments that left a lasting impression on our valued guests.


Content Creation

As the manager of the content team, I led the development of captivating video and print content. One notable project was the Mammoth Unbound magazine, where I collaborated closely with third-party designers and content managers to create a publication showcasing exclusive Mammoth content.

In addition to content creation, I played a vital role in the financial sustainability of the magazine. By leveraging my expertise in sponsorship promotion and sales, I actively sought partnerships with various brands to secure funding for the magazine's production. This strategic approach not only supported the publication but also provided valuable exposure for the partnering brands.

Throughout the process, I ensured that the magazine reflected the essence of Mammoth, capturing its unique experiences and engaging the target audience. By effectively managing the content team and fostering collaboration with external partners, I successfully delivered a visually stunning and content-rich publication that resonated with readers and generated positive brand exposure for Mammoth.


Product Development & Programing

As the leader in product development and programming, I spearheaded the concept and development of the Art Park, a groundbreaking and immersive on-mountain interactive art experience. This one-of-a-kind program brought the vibrant world of urban art to the mountains, enhancing the resort's atmosphere and captivating guests.

Working closely with a talented team of artists, designers, and engineers, we meticulously curated and installed interactive art installations along various runs within and around the resort. These captivating pieces seamlessly blended with the natural mountain environment, creating a truly unique and visually stunning experience for visitors.

The Art Park not only delighted guests with its artistic displays but also provided an opportunity for monetization through retail sales. We strategically designed and produced a range of products inspired by the art installations, including apparel, accessories, and collectibles. These exclusive merchandise items were made available for purchase at the resort's retail stores, allowing visitors to take home a piece of the immersive art experience and further connect with the brand.

The success of the Art Park was measured not only by its aesthetic impact but also by its ability to generate revenue and enhance the overall guest experience. By seamlessly integrating art, retail, and mountain culture, we created a truly memorable and multi-faceted offering that differentiated our resort from others in the industry. The Art Park became a must-visit attraction, drawing visitors from far and wide and solidifying our position as a leader in providing innovative and immersive experiences in the mountain resort landscape.
